Starboard Port Wine

Time of Quiet Wonder

It’s not the calm before the storm, but rather a moment of quiet wonder.

It's that feeling you get when you're about to embark on something new. A little bit excited; a little bit scared. A little bit ready; a little bit underprepared.

You're not quite here, but you're not quite there.

For the past few months, I’ve been quietly working on bringing Starboard to life — a unique exploration project with the vision of first generating enthusiasm, education, and awareness about Port wine with the ultimate goal of creating one that the world (you) will love. Consider it a next-generation Port wine built by you, for you.

On February 18 (Drink Wine Day), I’ll be releasing Starboard more fully out into the world. Meaning, I’ll introduce it to my network.

If you’re reading this now, you’re an early follower. Since soft-launching the project last fall, I’ve only told a handful of close family and friends. Why? Because I need this time alone with the idea to get it exactly right because ultimately, it’s a project that involves you.

I’m building Starboard carefully, thoughtfully, and intentionally, checking in along the way to make sure we’re staying true to our north star: to leverage our collective feedback about Port wine to ultimately create an accessible Port designed for the next generation.

It’s an exceedingly ambitious goal. And we certainly can’t get there alone. Even if we could, who would want to? Wine deserves to be shared.

Beginning February 18, more friends will likely be joining the Starboard crew. From the Port enthusiasts to the Port curious, we say, welcome aboard.

Onward we venture together to discover a new Port.
